If your SAAB 9-3 key fob is experiencing issues turning the lock barrel, it may be time to replace it. Fortunately, the process is rather simple and doesn't need you to visit an agent. You can complete the process at home with just a few simple tools.

In the beginning, you'll need to prepare the new key. Before you begin, turn off the anti-theft feature by placing blocks under the rear wheels and activating your handbrake. Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the "on" position. This will activate the accessories but will not start the engine. Repeat this 5 times, and then put the key in the "on" position.
